Short Bio

I was born in Veroia (Veria), Greece,  and lived in the UK for 7 years where I studied architecture. My postgraduate studies include an MPhil in History and Philosophy of Architecture from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh), Greece. From 2018 until 2022 I worked at a research programme in Thessaloniki (AUTh), where I engaged in creative form production, both physical and digital art, in order to research the environmental integration of art. I currently work as a freelance architect in Thessaloniki, Greece. My artistic inclination has manifested throughout the years via creating works of art as a means of emotional release. Hence, for me, artistic expression has always been more of a personal issue to be enjoyed in the company of oneself. The mediums I use are mostly readily and instantly available, in order to promptly quench the thirst for emotional release; to name but a few: various boards that are used for architectural models (hence I use them for my work), various objects that are used instead of brushes, paints that are used to paint walls, materials that can be easily bought from the neighbourhood’s stationery shop, etc.

Artist Statement

I sometimes feel this urgency, an emotional energy that needs to be re- leased. It needs to be manifested right at that moment! My logical mind surrenders control to my hands and they begin to move as they see fit. In the end, they reveal what my emotions wanted my mind to see for quite some time. So I guess, in a way, it is a form of communication between my unconscious and my conscious self.
